Ars Poetica

My work is based on nonverbal signals and body language that helps us to carry out communication which is both innate and guided. We constantly observe the behavior, body language and manner of speaking of the people around us. I am often staring in astonishment at the gestures of others, while on other occasions I am observing the changes on my own face deeply immersed in its reflection on various surfaces. Entering a space where I can take a close look at myself eye to eye in the mirror and even when exploring myself, I set out for an exploratory journey searching for my great "Aha!" Moments.

I am interested in people's facial expressions, their expressive hand movements and behavior in different life situations. Our body language, hand gestures and mimicry help us to initiate dialogue between each other and our environment. All these signs affect our opinion formation. Likewise, they have an impact on my artwork.

As an artist, I experiment with a range of mediums, from mirrors, photos and photo installations to oil canvas. Often, I use reflection as a means to create grotesque forms and symbols out of the ordinary.
