The Imre Révész Society of Transcarpathian Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists (IRS) has announced for the second time, a call for scholarship applications for young Transcarpathian Hungarian and Transcarpathia born fine and applied artists who were aged under 30 years by 10 October, 2020.

When the initiative was launched last year, we got to know  some of the emerging young artists,  including Olívia Zsigó, a ceramic artist and painter,  who became the  2019 IRS Fellow. You can read an introductory article about Olivia at the following link:

The scholarship includes:

  • A one-time cash payment of 10,000
  • The scholarship winner may display an artwork at the Society's Winter Exhibition 2020, the venue of which is the Jozsef Boksay Art Museum.
  • An introductory article about the artist will be published on the IRS website and included in the 2020 Winter Exhibition Anniversary Catalog.

Data required for the application:

  • A CV with photo (sample can be downloaded from
  • A digital portfolio in pdf format, with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 artworks (include the following information: title, date of creation, dimensions, technique).
  • Ars poetica / Creative creed (maximum one page).

In addition, an artwork by the winner of the scholarship competition will be included in the IRS’s art collection. Please indicate in your application the piece of work you would like to offer to the Society’s collection.
